We strongly suggest that you send us Adobe Acrobat (pdf) files. It is much more reliable and you can look at the pdf file yourself to see a proof prior to sending us the file. Please use the "Press" setting in the Acrobat options. See the Full Color section below for new Acrobat iGen3 print settings.
The two primary print languages in use today are PostScript and HP PCL. Our system can use files from either of these languages, but you must specify the correct print driver in order for it to work properly and at the highest resolution.
You should select a PostScript driver unless you are already printing to a PCL device. Since these two languages often use different font names, switching from one to the other will sometimes give erratic results.
Use the HP LaserJet 4MV (must have a 1/4 inch blank margin)
The best driver to use is the Xerox DocuTech 6135
You may also select an Apple LaserWriter II NTX for a test file.
Color printers are PostScript and you should select the Xerox iGen3
If you are using a current Windows, NT, or MAC operating system, the drivers you need are on your system install disks. For Windows and NT, go to "start" "settings" "printers" and use the "add printer wizard" to add the printer of your choice. MAC users will need to add a "virtual printer"
